Eye-catching greenery
It's difficult to single out any certain area of Savannah's Historic District in which you can experience gardens, because the area is rich with eye-catching greenery. However, here are a few prime gardens spots to get you started.
Owens-Thomas House, 124 Abercorn St. on Oglethorpe Square: The Regency-style mansion, built from 1816-1819, features a parterre. Information: (912) 233-9743.Ships of the Sea Museum, 41 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.: The 1896 house features a formal English garden as well as a wildflower garden. Information: (912) 232-1511.Private gardens: There are beautiful private gardens on the northwest corner of Jones and Lincoln streets and the northeast corner of Jones and Abercorn streets.
