MAKENA, HAWAII -- Poolenalena Beach at Makena on the Hawaiian island of Maui was the setting at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 21 as Erica Eliser and Robert Hirschl were united in marriage during a private ceremony solemnized by the Rev. Kevin Rebelo.
Parents of the bride are Eugene and Carolyn Eliser, 2768 S. Fox North Road, Hubbard, and the groom is a son of Lawrence and Marsha Hirschl, 5450 Davis Peck Road, Farmdale.
The bride wore an ivory crepe and chiffon sheath that featured spaghetti straps and a chiffon puddle train.
After honeymooning on Maui, a postnuptial Hawaiian luau reception was held in honor of the couple Aug. 26 at the home of the bride's parents.
A research chemist in the polymer division of Battell in Columbus, the bride graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in chemistry and with a master's degree in analytical chemistry.
The groom holds a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from YSU and is a medical student at Ohio State University College of Medicine.
The newlyweds live in Columbus.
