COITSVILLE -- Township trustees recently approved adding a 30-foot buffer zone requirement to the township zoning code. The requirement says business, commercial and light industrial establishments must establish a natural or landscape buffer for the entire length of the property line between themselves and residential neighbors. A natural buffer must contain heavy vegetation with a minimum height of 8 feet and an 8-foot-high privacy fence. Landscape buffers must contain two rows of evergreen trees 8 feet apart, with the trees staggered at 4-foot intervals. The minimum height of the trees and any earthen embankment is 8 feet.
