GIRARD -- An autopsy was scheduled to be performed today on a 20-month-old boy police say was beaten.
Brandon Craven died late Wednesday morning in Forum Health Tod Children's Hospital, where he had been taken Monday by his grandmother.
Trumbull County Coroner's Office had said the autopsy would be done Wednesday afternoon. However, the body arrived too late at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
Thursday, the coroner's pathology staff was in court.
Older brother: After Brandon was taken to the hospital, his brother, 3-year-old Robert Craven, arrived at the hospital with family members.
City Police Capt. Frank Bigowsky said the older brother had also been beaten. The hospital continues not to release any information about Robert, though police said his injuries are not life threatening.
Their father, Bobby Lee Craven, remains in the county jail in lieu of a $500,000 cash bond on a charge of child endangering in the injuries suffered by Robert.
Craven was arrested when he went to the hospital to see the children.
Bigowsky said he expects the case to be presented next week to the county grand jury, bypassing the municipal court.
