YOUNGSTOWN
Control board
The city's control board approved these spending items today:
Severance of $40,782 for Bruno Wajszczuk, a patrolman who retired Aug. 23.
A $7,500 contract with Youngstown State University to evaluate the 2001-02 Weed and Seed program.
A $56,705 contract with McCourt Construction, an Akron company, to pave South Avenue from Williamson Avenue to the Interstate 680 overpass. The work will fix problems with the original job, done by another company. The city withheld $81,000 in payment to that company. Because of that, this project as well as a contract not to exceed $7,520 with Thomas Fok & amp; Associates of Youngstown, for testing on the corrective work, will be done at no extra cost to the city.
A contract not to exceed $63,350 with MS Consultants of Youngstown to prepare demolition specifications and engineering for the demolition of the Edgewood Apartments at Dewey Avenue and Hillman Street.
