Police arrest man after traffic stop

AUSTINTOWN -- A Moorefield Road man was arrested Wednesday after police found a white powder on the front seat of his car.
Antonio Stanfield, 41, of 1691 Moorefield Road, was arrested for driving under suspension and on unrelated warrants for contempt of court after his car was stopped at North Meridian Road and Oakwood Avenue about 7 p.m. Wednesday. He also was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The substance has yet to be tested.
Police also found two glass pipes and several jeweler bags in the car, as well as a hook-shaped knife, a green pill and more white powder residue on Stanfield. He also had a credit card, a Social Security card and an Ohio identification card that did not belong to him in his pants pocket.
The items were found after a police dog indicated there may be drugs in the car during a traffic stop.
