Man says co-workerburned his flag
BOARDMAN -- Township police are investigating a report of a flag burning.
A Boardman man said he was leaving work at General Extrusions about 3 p.m. Tuesday when another employee set fire to a flag attached to his car antenna.
The vehicle's owner extinguished the fire and confronted the co-worker, who said he would set the flag on fire the next day if it was still on the car, according to a police report.
No explanation was given for the flag burning, police said.
Dancers enter pleas
YOUNGSTOWN -- Four exotic dancers arrested in June during an undercover sting at Da-Bing on Market Street have pleaded no contest in municipal court to disorderly conduct.
Found guilty and fined $100 each were Faith Rager, 23, and Hope Rager, 28, both of Loveland Road; Kellie Csernik, 28, of Clifton Drive, Boardman, and Nicole Hedland, 20, of Rhoda Avenue, Youngstown.
Solicitation arrest
AUSTINTOWN -- A Salem woman was arrested Tuesday after she offered to perform sex acts on a police officer for money, police say.
The officer spoke with the woman, 34, about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of the Rebel 38 Lounge on Seventy-Six Drive. The woman matched the description of a prostitute who truckers said was working in the area, the officer said.
The woman asked the officer if he was with the police. He said no. She then offered to perform sex acts for $20.
The officer then identified himself and arrested the woman. Police charged her with soliciting sex.
American Heart Walk
The American Heart Walk for Mahoning/Northern Columbiana counties and Trumbull County will be Saturday at Boardman Township Park and Cafaro Field in Niles. Registration will be at 8 a.m., and the walk will begin at 9 a.m. at both venues. Money is raised via pledges and donations.
Sentence not shortened
YOUNGSTOWN -- Judge Maureen A. Cronin of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court has denied a request from Joseph Maderitz to suspend the balance of his sentence in the county jail.
Maderitz, 32, of North Hazelwood Avenue, was sentenced in August to 90 days for selling the party drug Ecstasy. He is a former probation officer at the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center but was not accused of selling drugs to juveniles there.
After serving less than a month of the sentence, Maderitz filed a motion asking Judge Cronin to suspend the balance. She denied the request Monday.
Kids health clinic
BOARDMAN -- Kids Day American health clinic will be from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the offices of Drs. Heather Haverfield and Richard Rogan at 843 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Events will include ID cards and fingerprinting for children, and free dental screening and scoliosis checks. Donations will be accepted for the New York City Red Cross.
Robotics team
GIRARD -- The Girard High School robotics team will conduct a trash and treasure sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in the Girard city gymnasium on Main Street, one block south of U.S. Route 422.
Items include household needs, furniture, collectibles, children's clothing and more. There will be refreshments and a bake sale. All proceeds benefit Robotics Team 379.

Remembrance service
WARREN -- The Day of Remembrance service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church, 309 N. Park Ave.
The annual event to commemorate those killed by violence is sponsored by the Trumbull County Chapter of Parents of Murdered Children.
This year's observance includes those lost in last week's terrorist attacks. After the service, there will be a procession to the Trumbull County administration building for a candle-lighting ceremony and balloon launch.
