OUR MEMORIAL GARDEN
OUR MEMORIAL GARDEN
by Dan Cokrlic
To anyone that's ever felt a loss
This garden is for you.
We've planted mums, the hardiest of all flowers.
Their strength and ability to endure symbolizes the American people.
Harsh winter weather gives them an appearance of hopelessness.
But much like hope rises from despair, a new and stronger plant emerges through the soil in spring.
With the passing of each summer day, their bushes get greener and fuller.
The same way grief and despair can strengthen our hearts, faith and resolve.
As other flowers wilt with crisp fall temperatures, mums reach their full splendor.
Like the mum, we too will reach our full splendor once again.
