Youth Sportsfest
The Trumbull County 4-H Shooting Sports Pioneers Club will host a free NRA Youth Sportsfest on Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Fish & amp; Game Club of Vienna, state Route 193 across from the Youngstown Warren Regional Airport. The purpose of this event is to teach basic gun and archery safety, demystify firearms by providing hands-on experience, and provide an enjoyable learning experience to all youth ages 9 to 18 years old.
Participants will have the opportunity to safely shoot .22 rifle, .22 pistol, shotgun, muzzleloading rifle, and archery equipment with adult supervision. A picnic lunch will be provided.

St. Francis offershunter screening
NEW CASTLE -- St. Francis Hospital will offer free screenings for all area hunters from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 10 at the St. Francis Conference Center located at 1100 South Mercer Street.
General and laparoscopic surgeon Randy Hofius, D.O, will perform the examinations. The screening will include: blood glucose screening; blood pressure testing; a physical examination; EKG; pulmonary function testing; total cholesterol/HDL/ratio screening; refreshments

YOUTH
Opportunity fordisabled children
MONTGOMERY, Ala.-- For the ninth consecutive year, Buckmasters American Deer Foundation, is accepting applications of severely disabled or critically ill children whose wish is to go hunting.
Buckmasters Life Hunts are open to those 21 and under who have a life threatening illness or a disease that is known to shorten life span. The BADF will accept applicants on an individual basis. Most of the travel and other hunt-related expenses of accepted applicants will be paid for by the BADF.
Five of the youngsters will be invited to participate in a TV hunt in January 2002 with several nationally known celebrities, including longtime Life Hunts supporter comedian Jeff Foxworthy.
