LIMELIGHT Awards, achievements

NORTH LIMA -- Jim Baumgarten, a driver for Roadway Express Inc., has been recognized by the company for logging 1 million miles on the road without a preventable accident. A nine-year veteran of Roadway, Baumgarten is based in North Lima and is a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 311. He took third place in the five-axle competition in this year's State of Ohio Professional Roadeo Association event and was the champion last year. He lives in Boardman.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Terrence Thomas, president and chief executive of Community Bus Services Inc., has been awarded this year's Distinguished Service Award by the Virginia-based National School Transportation Association. The group, which represents school bus contractors across the country, recognizes one contractor with the award annually. Thomas is the only individual to have received the award twice. Thomas, a Boardman resident, has served as president of the association since 1999. CBS serves the Warren city, Youngstown city and Trumbull County schools and provides services for the Western Reserve Transit Authority. The company also transports more than 3,000 special-needs passengers daily.
BOARDMAN -- Raymond Housteau, a registered representative with Capital Securities of America based in Boardman, has earned membership in the PLANCO 2001 Captain's Club. PLANCO, a financial product wholesaler, recognized Housteau for producing more than $1 million in sales in a calendar year.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Tom Hiznay, director of maintenance at Carrington South Rehabilitation Health Care Center, has been certified by the state of Ohio as a universal technician in refrigerant transition and recovery after completing a required course of study at Ferris State University.
