PREP VOLLEYBALL Fitch defeats Mooney 15-0, 15-1



Hubbard remained unbeaten by rolling over Girard in Trumbull Athletic Conference play.
AUSTINTOWN -- Austintown Fitch High rolled to its third straight victory with 15-0, 15-1 victory over Cardinal Mooney in a Steel Valley Conference match Thursday.
Maggie Case scored 11 points and added five kills, 1 block and six aces for the Falcons. Ashlee Lemke added five points, one kill and three aces.
Salem 15-15, Howland 3-2: HOWLAND -- Tiffany Heestand led the Quakers (4-2, 2-0 Metro Athletic Conference) with two aces, two kills, one tip and three blocks. Taylor Hendricks had four kills and a tip. Lauren Teal had three kills and two blocks.
Niles 15-15, Struthers 8-12: STRUTHERS -- Laura Berry had eight digs and Tiffany Robenolt had seven kills for the Wildcats (4-1, 0-1 MAC).
Poland 15-16, Canfield 6-14: POLAND -- Raeanne Coppola had 12 kills while Kristen Stanyard had 12 assists and 16 points for the Bulldogs. Erin Mulligan also had six kills and 13 assists for Poland (3-4, 2-0 MAC). Vanessa Schutz led Canfield with six kills and Jill Vertanen tacked on 11 points.
Hubbard 15-15, Girard 6-6: HUBBARD -- Katy Jo Mroski had 19 kills while Nicole Pringle had 15 assists for the Eagles (7-0, 7-0 Trumbull Athletic Conference). Amanda Lingenfelter added 13 digs for Hubbard. Tealle Hunkus had 10 kills while Erica Stevens had 13 assists for the Indians (6-3, 5-2).
Liberty 15-16, Badger 6-14: KINSMAN -- Sarah Rivello had 12 kills and five points while Ashley Caffey had 35 assists, five kills and two digs for the Leopards (3-7, 2-5 TAC). Tara Meikle had nine points for the Braves (0-6, 0-5).
Champion 15-15, LaBrae 2-10: LEAVITTSBURG -- Rosie Holmes scored 13 points, with six aces, 10 assists. to pace the Golden Flashes (3-3, 3-3 TAC). Velda Morrison added seven points. Hillary Pegg had nine kills and two blocks. Julia Chesters scored six points to spark the Vikings (3-4, 1-3). Amanda Gordon had five kills, three blocks. Amber Dietelbach had six assists.
Mineral Ridge 15-12-15, Springfield 9-15-7: MINERAL RIDGE -- The Rams (7-0) were led by Dariana Casado and Jenna Hinks with 13 and 11 points, respectively. Hinks had five aces and Tiffany Hack and Casado each had nine kills. Maggie Marsh led Springfield with five points, two aces and seven kills.
Maplewood 15-15, Ashtabula Sts. J-P 4-5: ASHTABULA -- Joni Shelton collected nine points and three kills while Christen Clemson had six kills and two blocks for the Rockets. Toni Darocha also had 11 setting assists for Maplewood (6-0, 6-0 East Suburban Conference). The Rockets have won 70 straight conference matches.
Northwest 15-15, West Branch 3-12: BELOIT -- West Branch was led by Ashley Armstrong with 3 points, 1 kill, 3 assists, while Taylor Woods had seven points and Amber Metzgar had six kills, three assists and two points.
Crestview 17-15, Sebring 15-3: COLUMBIANA -- Kerry Simmons scored 11 points and Kristen Blakeslee added seven for the Lady Rebels. Katte Kibby had seven kills and nine spikes. Erika Eatson led Sebring with six points and three aces and Kim Brunie had 10 spikes and six kills.
United 15-15, East Palestine 5-11: EAST PALESTINE -- Sam McKay had five kills and 12 spikes and Jackie Valingo added four kills and 13 spikes to lead United. Abbey Gorby chipped in with 12 spikes. Sara Hotchkiss had five kills and Mandy Clapsaddle added eight for East Palestine.
