Police arrest homeless woman near motel

AUSTINTOWN -- A homeless woman was arrested early this morning on several charges at the Motel 6 on Seventy-Six Drive.
Police said they saw the woman looking nervously over her shoulder as she walked away from them at about 2 a.m. As officers followed her, she walked faster.
Eventually, police ordered the woman to stop, and she complied. They then discovered that she had been told to stay away from the motel in the past.
Police charged the woman with criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct while intoxicated, failure to desist and resisting arrest.
The woman had a "loud, aggressive attitude," according to police reports, and she reportedly swore at officers. The woman also struggled with officers when she was arrested.
At the police station, the woman began kicking at the officers and banging her head on the floor. She was placed in a holding cell, where she continued to bang her head.
The woman eventually was taken to the Mahoning County Jail.
