MAHONING TOWNSHIP Supervisors meet Mahoning Township Supervisors met in regular session and took the following action:

Set the annual fall cleanup for the last week of September and the first week of October. More details will be announced after the dates are confirmed with the trash company.Agreed to continue the ban on open burning until the end of September.Passed a resolution explaining that the $750 tap-in fee for the recently completed waterline on U.S. Route 224 is based on the township's $325,000 cost divided among 433 properties. Agreed to forgive township taxes for six properties at the request of Treasurer Gary Felasco. A sheriff's sale can be avoided and the properties put up for sale by the county. The properties are mostly sites of abandoned mobile homes.Approved a conditional use zoning application for a manufactured home in an agricultural district on Erskine Quarry Road and tabled another conditional use request for a property in a residential district on Hillsville Road. The first, supervisors said, was approved because it will be a permanent structure and have a basement. They had questions about the permanency of the second and delayed action until they talk to applicants.Referred to the township planning commission a request by New Castle Airport Authority attorney Lou Perrotta that the township adopt a model zoning ordinance that governs the height of structures near the airport.
