Century mark: Seattle coach Mike Holmgren recorded his 100th career victory. He's the 28th NFL coach to achieve the milestone. Nine of those victories were postseason wins by the Green Bay Packers.
Creed rules: Dick Creed of Struthers served as replay official. Creed retired as an NFL official several years ago after a lengthy career. He served as back judge in Super Bowl XXX in Arizona. Within 10 minutes, Creed was busy at work as Holmgren challenged a ruling that the Browns had downed a punt on the Seattle 1. Holmgren lost the challenge. The Browns won a fourth-quarter challenge after cornerback Daylon McCutcheon was ruled out-of-bounds on an interception. Referee Bill Etzler ruled the play a pickoff after reviewing the tape.
Replacements: Holmgren said he thought the replacement officials "did a pretty good job today. They did not throw a lot of flags and they kept the game under control."
Cornerback shortage: The Seahawks scratched three cornerbacks: Former Ohio State star Shawn Springs, former Steeler Willie Williams and Ike Charlton. Paul Miranda and Ken Lucas were the Seattle starters. The Browns scratched three wide receivers: Tony Simmons, Dennis Northcutt and Jammi German.
Long kick: Phil Dawson's 48-yard field goal in the second quarter was the second longest of his career. On Sept. 26, 1999, Dawson kicked a 49-yarder in Baltimore.
Career high: Browns linebacker Jamir Miller tied a career-high with two sacks. Miller also had two sacks in a 1994 game against Atlanta and a 1999 game against Cincinnati. In all, the Browns had five sacks.
