YOUNGSTOWN -- The wedding of Gina M. Guzell and Mark Melnik took place at 3 p.m. Aug. 4 at the Rose Garden gazebo at Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park. The Rev. James Bell Jr. officiated for the daughter of Stanley D. Guzell Jr., 237 Evergreen Drive, Poland, and Jacqueline Guzell of Ann Arbor, Mich., and the son of Steve and Judy Melnik, 70 Struthers-Coitsville Road, Coitsville.
A reception followed at the D.D. and Velma Davis Education and Visitor Center at the park. The couple honeymooned on the coast of Maine and are living at 30 Orchard St., Medford, Mass.
The bride wore an ivory satin gown fashioned with spaghetti straps and a short train.
Her sister, Carolyn Guzell, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Marianne Lloyd, Heather Krygowski, Stacey Poponak, Maura George and the groom's sister, Lara Melnik. They wore celadon green gowns.
Nick Melnik was best man for his brother, and groomsmen were Bill LoSasso, Frank Nolasco, Mike Kotheimer, Dan Celio and Ian McKenna.
A summa cum laude graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in psychology, Mrs. Melnik is a graduate assistant in the psychology department at Tufts University in Medford, where she is enrolled in the doctoral degree program. Her husband graduated magna cum laude from YSU with a bachelor's in sociology. He is a graduate assistant in the sociology department at Northeastern University in Boston, where he is enrolled in the doctoral degree program.
