Second Chance plans fund-raiser

CANFIELD -- Second Chance Animal Rescue will sponsor "Four Paws-A-Thon" Sept. 29 at the Colonial Inn at the Canfield Fairgrounds.
Registration will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. followed by the one-mile walk from 9:45 to 10:30. Contests with prizes will follow with awards going to the following divisions: Best tricks, owner and pet look-alike, waggiest tail, most handsome and most beautiful.
A demonstration with dogs will be held at noon, and another one-mile walk will begin at 12:30 p.m. Drawings and a 50/50 raffle from 1:30 to 2 p.m. will conclude the event.
Hostess will be Kelly Stevens.
To participate: Entry fee is $12 in advance or $15 the day of the event. Advance registration must be made by Saturday. Entry forms are available by sending the fee to Second Chance, P.O. Box 4867, Youngstown, Ohio 44515.
Participants are asked to obtain pledges from family and friends to sponsor them and their pet for the event. Proceeds will benefit the organization's efforts to care for abandoned and abused animals in the community.
