Fiction workshop
HERMITAGE, Pa. -- Local author Susan Dexter will conduct "Where Writers Become Authors," the monthly fiction writer's workshop on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Book Source on State Street in Hermitage, Pa.
Discussion topics include "Partners: Setting and Character." Participants may have up to 10 pages of their work evaluated. Fiction writers at all experience levels are welcome, and the registration fee is $10.

Barnes & amp; Noble events
BOARDMAN -- On Wednesday at noon at Barnes & amp; Noble on Boardman-Poland Road in Boardman, Ohio author Jim Cash will be discussing and signing copies of his book "Unsung Heroes: Ohioans in the White House: A Modern Appraisal."
For children, there will be a family story time today at 2 p.m. The featured book will be "Angelina on Stage," by Katharine Holabird. There will also be a craft after the story. Next Sunday at 2 p.m. family story time will feature "Buzzy the Bumblebee," a story about self-esteem by Denise Brennan-Nelson.
The following book groups will meet this week:
UThe Travel the World group will meet on Tuesday at 7 p.m. to discuss Chris Stewart's "Driving over Lemons."
UOn Thursday at 7 p.m., the Eclectic Book Group will meet. Readers can choose any book and share what they've read at the meeting.
