Krugels mark 50th anniversary at dinner party

AUSTINTOWN -- The golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Gale R. Krugel, 3980 Lake Road, was celebrated Sept. 2 at a dinner party at Davidson's Restaurant in Cornersburg.
Hosts for the festivity were the couple's children and their spouses, Robert and Pamela Krugel of Youngstown, Kathleen and David Pflugh of Boardman, and Karen and Michael Neese of Leetonia.
Mr. Krugel and the former Betty Jane Bortmas were married Sept. 2, 1951, at the First Presbyterian Church in Niles. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-53 and retired in 1992 from the nonskilled maintenance department at General Motors Corp. in Lordstown. His wife is a homemaker and member of the Longaberger Collectors Club.
The Krugels have eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
