NEOUCOM About the school



Tiffany and Crystal Thomas are two of about 100 students admitted to Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in 1998-99. Some facts about the program:
Students can receive a combined B.S./M.D. degree in six years, as opposed to the typical eight-year program.
Students first attend Youngstown State University, the University of Akron or Kent State University for two years, then move to the NEOUCOM campus in Rootstown.
The Ohio Legislature established the program in August 1973; the program was fully accredited in 1981.
Now, about 750 students apply for the B.S./M.D. program each year. The average ACT score of the applicants is a 30; the highest one can score on the test is 36.
Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 to be promoted to the M.D. portion of the program.
