CENTERVILLE -- Melody Carol Curtis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephan J. Curtis of Lowellville, and Joseph Patrick Wendell Whinnery, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Whinnery of Columbus, were united in marriage Aug. 11 in the amphitheater at Leonard E. Stubbs Memorial Park.
Officiating at the garden ceremony were the Revs. Greg Couser and Ken Buck of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Xenia.
The bride wore a sleeveless, white georgette gown styled with a chapel-length train. A wreath of ivy and lavender held her fingertip veil.
Wearing lavender dresses were the honor attendant, Heidi Chandler, sister of the bride, and the bridesmaids, Mary Jo Vinal, Kimber Fessler, Sarah Hodson, Christa Preston and Ronna Couser. Flower girls were Victoria and Leandra Ulmer.
Sharing the duties of best man were Jake Porter and Ken Buck. Groomsmen were Aaron Fessler, Eric Crawford, Daryl Bell and Daniel Whinnery, brother of the groom. Ring bearer was Benjamin Whinnery, nephew of the groom.
After a honeymoon to Sunset Beach, N.C., the newlyweds live in Pontiac, Mich.
Mrs. Whinnery has a degree in professional writing from Cedarville University. She was employed by Emmanuel Baptist Church as an administrative assistant prior to her marriage.
Mr. Whinnery graduated from CU with a degree in automotive engineering. He is employed by Valeo Automotive in Auburn Hills, Mich.
