Open house planned Saturday for Van Orsdels

NORTH LIMA -- Thayer and Emma Van Orsdel will be honored from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at an open house at Glenellen Retirement Community, 9661 Market St., in celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary.
Assisting in the observance will be the couple's children and their spouses, Jim and Carol Van Orsdel of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Jan and Bob Davis of Grand Rapids, Mich. The couple also have four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The Van Orsdels were married Sept. 6, 1941, at Liberty United Presbyterian Church in Brookfield. They lived in Boardman for over 50 years before relocating to North Lima. Mr. Van Orsdel worked for 42 years with Prudential Insurance Co. of America.
The couple are members of Boardman United Methodist Church.
