Cardinal Golf Classic slated at Mill Creek



YOUNGSTOWN -- The ninth Cardinal Classic golf tournament, with 18 schools entered, will be held at Mill Creek's north course Saturday with a shotgun start set for 8:30 a.m.
Warren John F. Kennedy, the defending Division III state champion, returns to defend its Cardinal Classic crown.
Other schools entered are Poland, Howland, Canfield, Ursuline, Fitch, Mooney, Boardman, Hubbard, Brookfield, East Palestine, North Canton Hoover, Wadsworth, Uniontown Lake, Green, University School, Canton Central Catholic and United.
Top golfers entered in the event are Jason Kokrak and Colin Clemente of JFK and Div. I state runner-up Dan Gourley of Green.
Lake was an early-season winner of the Hudson Invitational and Seven Hills Tournament.
University School was the Div. II state runner-up a year ago.
Canfield's Brandon Pauley took first place in the recent Mill Creek 7-Up Tournament with 145.
