YOUNGSTOWN YWCA seeks nominations for award
YOUNGSTOWN -- Nominations are being accepted for the YWCA of Youngstown's 24th annual Women of the Year Awards.
Since 1978, the YWCA of Youngstown has celebrated the accomplishments of more than 300 women in the Mahoning Valley.
Selected women are recognized for their unique contributions, outstanding career achievements, leadership and involvement in the community.
The Women of the Year awards help increase community awareness and appreciation of women and the doors they open for future generations. Award winners are role models and mentors and have played significant roles in helping other women achieve their goals.
To be eligible, women should have acquired achievements in their careers, demonstrated active community involvement and have proven leadership qualities. Candidates must be sponsored by an organization, group or business and either reside or work in the Mahoning Valley. Nominations are limited to one per organization, group or business. Candidates may be affiliated with a nonprofit or for-profit organization.
All nominations will be reviewed and selected by an independent panel of judges. Nomination selection criteria vary from year to year. Previously nominated women who were not selected for the award are eligible for renomination.
Organizations, businesses or groups that are interested in nominating a candidate can contact the YWCA Communications/Development Department at (330) 746-6361.
