LEAVITTSBURG -- Amber Bietelbach had six points and 10 assists, Joy Hartman six points, Amanda Gordon five kills and Ashley Alexander two blocks, as LaBrae High defeated Howland 15-9, 15-11 in a high school volleyball match Saturday.
For Howland (3-2), Stephanie Burns had seven points, Jamie Kelly five kills and two blocks, and Allyson Carmen had five assists.
LaBrae 15-15, Ursuline 6-13: LEAVITTSBURG -- Julia Chester had 10 points, Amanda Gordon five kills and seven blocks, and Amber Bietelbach 14 assists for LaBrae (2-1).
For Ursuline (1-4), Rachel Evans had 10 points, Kate Florig six kills, Sue Graben six assists and Lauren Reinhardt five blocks.
GlenOak 15-15, Salem 12-8: CANTON -- Junior Kelli Crouse had 10 kills, two blocks, one tip; junior Tiffanie Heestand had six kills and junior Taylor Hendricks had five kills, one tip for the Quakers.
Salem 15-15, Crestwood 10-10: Junior Megan Sampson had three aces, five kills and Heestand had four kills and one block for the Quakers (1-1).
Southeast 15-14-15, West Branch 7-16-7: CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Jen Weingart had 12 kills, three blocks, 12 passes and one point; Amanda Benner had 11 points, five blocks, and six passes; and Ashley Armstrong had eight assists, six kills, five blocks, two points and four passesfor West Branch.
Walsh Jesuit 15-15, West Branch 8-9: Amber Metzgar had 16 blocks, seven passes, four kills, four assists and one point; Molly New had 12 passes, four kills, one block and one point; and Taylor Woods had six points and six passes for West Branch.
