Thomases mark 50th anniversary with dinner, trip

YOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Thomas, 3324 N. Wendover Circle, marked their 50th wedding anniversary during a family dinner Sept. 1 at Johnny's Restaurant.
They also celebrated the occasion during a family vacation in July to Surfside Beach, S.C.
The former Norma McCully and Mr. Thomas were married Sept. 1, 1951, at Trinity Methodist Church.
Their family includes their children, Christine Thomas of Twinsburg, Mark Thomas of Toledo, James Thomas of Youngstown and David Thomas of Cortland, and two grandchildren.
Now retired, Mr. Thomas worked at General Motors Corp. at Lordstown. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and in Korea. He is a board member of Southside Ministries.
Mrs. Thomas is a retired teacher from Youngstown City School District. She is a volunteer for the Good News Club at the Needles Eye Christian Counseling Center.
The couple are members of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Boardman.
