Surprise dinner for 50th jubilee honors the Turners



YOUNGSTOWN -- A surprise dinner party Aug. 11 honored Mr. and Mrs. Maple Turner Jr., 3109 Northwood Ave., for the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.
The event took place at the home of the couple's daughter, Brunilda Turner, 3148 Northwood Ave. Host and hostess were Keilan Turner of Youngstown, the couple's grandson, and Shirley Stone of Youngstown, Mrs. Turner's sister.
Their family circle also includes a son, Maple Turner III of New York, N.Y.; a daughter, Kusana Turner of Dallas; and a great-grandson.
Mrs. Turner is a homemaker.
Retiring in 1980, Mr. Turner was a laborer at LTV Steel Corp. in Campbell.
The former Doris Grant and Mr. Turner exchanged marriage vows Aug. 11, 1951, at the home of the bride's brother-in-law and sister, Clifford Sr. and Mabel Shipp of Youngstown.
