Series of anniversary events is held in honor of Mr. and Mrs. DeAngelo



YOUNGSTOWN -- A dinner and reception Aug. 11 at Chadda Bing's in Canfield was one of the events held in honor of Mr. and Mrs. William DeAngelo, 549 B Wilcox Road, who were celebrating their 61st wedding anniversary.
Invitations for the event were issued by the couple's children and their spouses, William Jr. and Karen DeAngelo and Deborah and Randy Lowe, all of Austintown; Thomas and Joy DeAngelo of St. Charles, Ill.; and Joseph and Rene & eacute; DeAngelo of Canfield. There are nine grandchildren in the family.
Prior to the event, the couple also celebrated their anniversary during a three-day stay in Columbus, where they attended a grandson's wedding, and a five-day trip to Las Vegas.
The former Lucille Pallante and Mr. DeAngelo were married Aug. 11, 1940, at Immaculate Conception Church. They are members of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Mr. DeAngelo, who is known as "Dibbie," served in World War II and was a machinist and chief shop steward at Youngstown Welding and Engineering, where he retired in 1983. He is a member of the Golden Eagles and the Curbstone Coaches Hall of Fame.
