Evanses mark golden jubilee at reception

COLUMBIANA -- Mr. and Mrs. Donald E. Evans, 42100 Madison Ave., were honored Aug. 4 at a dinner reception at Atwood Lake Resort in Sherrodsville in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Hosts for the observance were the couple's children and their spouses, Mark and Joy Evans of North Lima, Melissa and John Bloor of Leetonia, Jenny and Steve Barnes of Galion, and Matt and Brenda Evans of Bristol, R.I. Seven grandchildren complete their family.
Mr. Evans and the former Marilyn Kay were married Aug. 5, 1951, at First Presbyterian Church in East Liverpool. They are members of First Presbyterian Church.
The couple retired in 1990 from Salem City Schools, where they were teachers. He served in the U.S. Army from 1945-47.
