WARREN -- Al Roker is coming to town as part of Trumbull Town Hall's 24th annual celebrity lecture series.
Roker, of NBC's "Today Show," will be the first guest lecturer of the series, at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 19 in W.D. Packard Music Hall, Mahoning Avenue.
A patron's breakfast will be at 9 a.m. Lunch at Avalon Inn will follow the lecture, and a fashion show will be presented by J'eriels of Sharon, Pa.
Reservations cost $12 and are required for the lunch and fashion show.

Season tickets for the lecture series cost $50. Single tickets are $25 and can be ordered by calling the YWCA. Group and student tickets are available.
Workshop scheduledfor home buyers
YOUNGSTOWN -- Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Youngstown is sponsoring a workshop for first-time home buyers from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. This free workshop is designed to cover basic home-buying information such as determining affordability, budget and credit problems, and the application process.
It will be at the Family Service Agency, 535 Marmion Ave. All participants will receive a certificate of attendance that will satisfy the education requirement for some mortgage programs. There is no cost. Call (330) 782-9113 to register.
Duck race fund-raiser
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Potential Development Program will have a fund-raiser duck race at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Glacier Lake in Mill Creek MetroParks. The $5 tickets to sponsor a duck are available by calling (330) 746-7641 and will be sold up to race time at Glacier Lake.
Proceeds will support the Potential Development Program, which provides individualized intervention for children with developmental delays and pre-school and school-age education for autistic children.
Grant workshop
YOUNGSTOWN -- Reservations are being taken for a Grant Center orientation program at 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the meeting room of the public library at 305 Wick Ave..
"Grant Seeking Basics: An Orientation to the Funding Research Process" is a free basic orientation for representatives of nonprofit organizations new to the process and who want to know more about the library's resources or for previous participants who would like a refresher.

Robber visits twice
YOUNGSTOWN -- A 71-year-old Berkley Avenue man was robbed of $21 as he sat on his enclosed porch Saturday afternoon, police said.
The robber, a man who appeared to be about 21, demanded money at 1 p.m., but the victim said he had none.
The robber returned with two handguns and the man gave him money, police said.
