ICL-TCL Newton Falls leads early, wins 42-7



Tim Grimm's 111 yards led Southington past Sebring, 27-0.
NORTH JACKSON -- Marty Hutchinson ran 19 times for 145 yards and scored on runs of 3 and 9 yards as Newton Falls trimmed Jackson-Milton 42-7 Friday.
Matt Gillespie of the Tigers (2-0) returned the opening kickoff 80 yards for a score and Newton Falls led 28-0 after one quarter.
Gillespie also scored from 35 yards away.
After Hutchinson scored from the 3, Ryan Clonch recovered a blocked punt in the end zone for a touchdown and a 22-0 lead.
Tom Nemet, who threw for a successful conversion, ran 55 yards for a score and a 28-0 lead entering the second quarter.
Dan Hallas, who carried 16 times for 55 yards, ran 2 yards for a touchdown for the Bluejays (0-2).
Windham 26, McDonald 6: WINDHAM -- John Lewis ran 17 times for 127 yards and a 41-yard touchdown as the Bombers improved to 2-0.
Zack Burns scored from the 4, Larry Jones from the 6 and James Labe ran 46 yards for a touchdown for Windham.
Jeff Ashton ran 19 times for 37 yards and Jason Joynes passed 11 yards to Andrew Presco for a touchdown for the Blue Devils (0-2).
Windham had more total yards, 338-120.
Leetonia 41, Western Reserve 13: LEETONIA -- Nick Mango and Kevin Cibula proved to be a potent 1-2 punch as Leetonia ripped Western Reserve.
Mango ran 14 times for 165 yards and touchdowns of 6 and 39 yards.
Cibula ran 12 times for 105 yards and touchdowns covering 3, 20, 4 and 43 yards for the Bears (2-0).
Chris Mountain returned an interception 63 yards for one touchdown and Kyle Trimble ran 5 yards for another for the Blue Devils (0-2).
Cliff James led Western Reserve with 11 carries for 52 yards.
Southington 27, Sebring 0: SEBRING -- Tim Grimm ran 13 times for 111 yards and a 38 yard touchdown to lead the Wildcats.
Kevin Swiger, who hit on 10 of 18 passes for 128 yards, found Thad James for a 20-yard touchdown pass and then connected with Dom Chiarella for a 25-yard score.
Klye Andretta rounded out the scoring with a 3-yard touchdown.
Lisbon 20, LaBrae 6: LISBON -- LaBrae (0-2) scored on the first play following the opening kickoff as Brett Briscoe dashed 70 yards for a touchdown.
Lisbon (1-1) took control of the game at that point. Matt Adams' 3-yard touchdown run and Jacob Wycoff's placement put the Blue Devils ahead for keeps 7-6 late in the first quarter.
