NEW CASTLE Cops arrest 2 suspects in Burger King robbery

One of the workers had called police before the suspects made their move.
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Authorities said Isiah Taylor III and James Edward Scott wanted to get the contents of the safe at the Burger King in Union Township.
What they ended up getting is a laundry list of criminal charges.
The Pennsylvania State Police arrested Taylor, 33, of Grant Street, Youngstown, and Scott, 37, of Sherwood Street, Youngstown, early Sunday. Police said that they picked up Taylor as he was running from the restaurant at 12:35 a.m. and that Scott was found sometime later walking along U.S. Route 422 toward Youngstown.
Police said the two men were lurking outside the State Street Burger King and forced the store manager back inside as he closed up Sunday morning. They demanded cash from the safe but ran off as police arrived, authorities said.
Police are called: State Trooper Darrell Horton said another employee who had left before the manager noticed Scott and Taylor outside, became suspicious, and called police.
Horton noted that before the Scott and Taylor went into the restaurant, they took the manager's car keys and started his vehicle, which police think was to be used when they left.
Both men were arrested and arraigned that day, but additional charges were filed Monday by the Pennsylvania State Police.
In addition to charges of robbery, robbery of a motor vehicle, recklessly endangering another person and making terroristic threats, Taylor and Scott face charges of criminal conspiracy to commit robbery, possessing instruments of crime, aggravated assault, simple assault, unlawful restraint and carrying firearms without a license.
Stolen gun: Horton said they also face a charge of receiving stolen property because police discovered that one of the handguns used in the robbery was stolen from a vehicle in Youngstown in October 2000. They also face charges regarding a law that prohibits convicted felons from handling firearms.
Taylor and Scott were remanded to the Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond each.
Their preliminary hearings are set for 9:15 a.m. Nov. 6 before District Justice J.V. Lamb.
