AUCTIONS
XNotre Dame Home and School Association will hold its annual "Wishes and Dreams" silent auction Saturday at G's Golden Gate, 2186 Parkman Road N.W., Warren. XSouth Range Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization will hold an auction at 6 p.m. Saturday at South Range High School gym, South Avenue, North Lima. More than 200 new items and gift certificates will be auctioned. There will be a bake sale and raffle. Food concessions will be available. Doors open at 5.
BAZAARS
XCanfield United Methodist Church on the Green will hold a bazaar from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday with a special super $1 a bag sale from 3 to 4 p.m.
XFirst Presbyterian Church of Mineral Ridge, 3654 N. Main St., Mineral Ridge, will sponsor a bazaar from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Baked goods, crafts, attic treasures, books and plants will be sold. A lunch counter with pork and sauerkraut sandwiches, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans and homemade soup will be available. XSt. James Altar and Rosary Society will hold its annual holiday bazaar and craft show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Queen of Angels School cafeteria, 2106 Arbor St. S.E., Warren. There will be crafts, baked goods, a Chinese auction, country store, Christmas tree with handmade ornaments, gently used items and raffle prizes. Admission is free.
BOOK SALES
XFriends of the Newton Falls Library will sponsor a book, craft and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the library, 204 S. Canal St.
CARD/BINGO PARTIES
XInfant Jesus of Prague Guild of St. Lucy Church, 394 Tenney Ave., Campbell, will hold a luncheon card and bingo social Sunday. Doors will open at noon, and lunch will be served until 1:30 p.m. Cost is $5, and door prizes will be awarded.
CRAFT SHOWS
XAltrusa Club of Warren will present its 29th annual craft show from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren. Handcrafted items, baked goods and homemade candy will be sold, and lunch will be available. A raffle will include a James Friend print, a cosmetics fragrance basket and a tea basket. XColumbiana County Career Center Youth Clubs will sponsor the annual Christmas craft show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the career center, 9364 state Route 45, Lisbon.
XFirst United Brethren Church, 1900 Eastbrook Road, New Castle, Pa., will hold a fall craft festival from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. XThe 33rd annual Glenwood Peddler craft show will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Boardman Glenwood Middle School, 7635 Glenwood Ave., by the BGMD Parent-Teacher Association. Admission is free. More than 100 exhibitors will offer fall and holiday crafts, arts and gifts and there will be a Chinese auction.
XA holiday arts and crafts show is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 10 by St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church at the Father Petric Parish Center, 764 Fifth St., Struthers. More than 80 artisans will offer handcrafted items. The Altar and Rosary Society will conduct a bake sale, and a light lunch will be available. Admission is free.
XA holiday and fine arts and craft show will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at West Middlesex High School, state Route 18, West Middlesex, Pa. Ethnic foods and pastries will be sold. The cost is $1.
DINNERS
XYoungstown After 5 Club will hold a "picture perfect" dinner from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 12 in the Marco Polo Room at Lucianno's, 1732 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown. The speaker will be Laurie Oswald, who specializes in antique trunk restoration and creates "Auntie Laure" baking mixes and recipe books. Also featured will be Kara Thomas and Mike Tatantino. FESTIVALS
XSt. John's Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will sponsor its 41st annual Boar's Head and Yule Log Festival Jan. 6 at the church. Starting Nov. 5, patron tickets will be available for $30. The price includes preferred seating, the patron's name in the program and one dinner/performance ticket. Patrons also have the option to buy additional dinner and performance tickets early (at $15 a piece). From Nov. 19, tickets will be available to St. John parishioners only. From Dec. 3, general admission tickets for the public, $3 each for performances only or $15 for the dinner and performance, according to ticket availability. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door for $5. Two festival performances will be 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. Dinner seatings are 12:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. Musical entertainment includes Youngstown State University's Dana Chorale and its Brass and Festival Ensemble, bagpipers, drummers, YSU faculty and student musicians and 100 parishioners of St. John's dressed in medieval costumes. XGreater Girard Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a bus trip to Casino Niagara on Saturday, departing Girard at 7 a.m. and returning at 10 p.m. The cost is $30 per person and includes $10 in casino tokens.
