DON MARRIE
Age: 43.Home: 9228 North Lima Road, Poland.Employment: Owner, Midwest Surplus.Education: 1975 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, 1986 graduate of Youngstown State University.Family: Wife, Linda; two children, Rebecca and Eric.Priority: To improve communication between our fire, EMS, police and street departments; to keep volunteers, employees and residents of Springfield Township safe as our township grows; to research for more grant moneys (state and federal) for sewers and other improvements.
SHIRLEY A. HECK
Age: 59.Home: 12731 Beard Road, New Springfield.Employment: Homemaker.Education: Graduate of Springfield Local High School, graduate of Geneva College.Family: Husband, Edward L.; four children, Edward, Bruce, Brian and Heather.Priority: We need leadership that will adapt and respond to the needs of our citizens. One major issue is the need to cooperatively address environmental issues such as sanitary sewers and water through the seeking of grants through state and federal resources. We need short- and long-range planning.
ROBERT 'REED' METZKA*
Age: 60.Home: 6542 Columbiana Road, New Middletown.Employment: Self employed, hauling service.Education: 1959 graduate of Springfield Local High School.Family: Wife, Kathy; one child, Mark.Priority: To get more from the solid waste district and to get a person from Springfield Township on the solid waste board. Solid waste receives more than $600,000 a year from the landfill in Springfield Township.
THOMAS KERR
Age: 56.Home: 6366 E. Garfield Road, Petersburg.Employment: Owner, Kerr's Barber Shop.Education: 1963 graduate of Springfield Local High School, 1964 graduate of Andrew's Barber College.Family: Wife, Carol; two children, Brian and Khrysanne; two grandchildren.Priority: To prepare the township for the growth that we are experiencing by maintaining and improving the township services including fire and rescue, police and road maintenance. I will continue to work for the installation of sanitary sewers in Petersburg and New Springfield, and more importantly, to obtain grants from state, federal and local sources to fund this project.
RICK JONES
Age: 48.Home: 13850 Beard Road, New Springfield.Employment: Owner, Rick's Auto Glass.Education: 1971 graduate of Springfield Local High School.Family: Wife, Peggy; three sons, Nick, Ryan and Casey.Priority: Springfield Township needs a plan for future growth. I hope to bring in new ideas for a safer and better community.
HELEN ANNE TOUVILLE
Age: 33.Home: 12730 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road, Petersburg.Employment: Supervisor, Giant Eagle wholesale customer service dept.Education: 1986 graduate of Springfield Local High School.Family: Husband, James L. Touville Jr.; two children, Tiffany Anne and James L.Priority: To vigorously pursue grants available from the state and federal governments.

I fought tooth and nail for them."
