Brister's runs beat Flashes in overtime

CORTLAND -- Pete Brister scored on a 1-yard run and then ran a two-point conversion for Lakeview in a 25-24 win over Champion in the second overtime.
Brister, who also gave the Bulldogs (4-6, 4-3 Trumbull Athletic Conference) the lead in the first quarter as he scored on a 49-yard run, gained 237 yards on 47 attempts.
Adam Wargo of Champion (4-6, 2-5) gained 212 yards on 23 rushes and scored on runs of 40 and 83 yards.
In the first overtime, Mike Megyesi kicked a 26-yard field goal to give Lakeview a 17-14 lead.
Mike Hofmeister answered with a 37-yard field goal to tie it again for Champion.
Max King scored on an 11-yard run and Hofmeister made a place kick to give the Golden Flashes a 24-17 lead in the second overtime.
Brister then produced the winning eight points on a pair of runs.
The Flashes rushed 37 times for 242 yards, but finished with minus 2 yards as they completed just 1-of-13 passes.
