Wally Sinn seated as division officer



INDEPENDENCE -- Wally Sinn of Western Mahoning County Kiwanis Club was inducted as lieutenant governor of Division 21, Ohio District, Kiwanis International, during a meeting Oct. 1 in Independence.
Sinn will be serving on the worldwide Kiwanis leadership team with Brian Cunat, Kiwanis International president.
Tom Crawford of Toledo, Ohio Kiwanis governor, conducted the installation, and serving with Sinn in Division 21 will be Charles Whitman, lieutenant governor-elect; Joyce Pogany, secretary; Barb Kliner, treasurer; and George Yates, immediate past lieutenant governor.
Sinn is the manager of Lane Funeral Home in Austintown and a 26-year member of Kiwanis. He and his wife, Carol, live in Green Township.
The group: Kiwanis International is composed of more than 8,000 clubs with nearly 300,000 members in over 70 nations. Its major service focus, a program titled "Young Children: Priority One," will continue during 2001-02. During the past year, Kiwanis clubs donated more than $100 million and almost 6 million volunteer hours for community service projects.
