MERCER Former Sharon man gets jail term

Two Mercer County people also received 10- to 30-day sentences.
MERCER, Pa. -- Judge Michael Wherry of Mercer County Common Pleas Court sentenced Dale Ravenscroft, 24, formerly of Sharon, to one to two years in jail on an assault conviction stemming from an April 12 encounter.
Originally charged with two counts of unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, terroristic threats and other charges, Ravenscroft pleaded guilty to the reduced charge. He was sentenced Thursday.
Court documents say he head-butted a woman, identified as his girlfriend at that time, during an argument in a car on Kelly Road, near the Shenango Dam.
Reckless endangering: The judge sentenced Victor Luce, 44, of Lot 23, West Jamestown Road, Jamestown, to 10 to 30 days in jail and fined him $250 for pointing a shotgun and taunting four people, including a toddler, at Hillcrest Mobile Home Park in Greene Township on April 8.
He pleaded guilty to a charge of recklessly endangering another person. Other recklessly endangering charges were dismissed.
Luce, who lives at the mobile home park, contended the adults often sped through the park in their vehicles and he wanted them to slow down.
One woman, who also lives in the park, had her 1-year-old son with her.
Assault: Judge Wherry also sentenced Sonya Lynn McKelvey, 23, of McClure Avenue, Sharon, to 10 to 30 days in jail and gave her two years probation for injuring another woman in a dispute over a boyfriend March 10 at Zappa's Grille, 512 Main St., Sharpsville.
She pleaded guilty to charges of simple assault and possessing instruments of a crime.
McKelvey broke a bar glass on a table then struck the victim in the head with it, knocked her down, pulled her hair and bit her on the hand.
McKelvey was dating the victim's former boyfriend, court documents say.
