AUSTINTOWN Police investigate 2 fights at Compass West apartments
AUSTINTOWN -- A Compass West woman told police that she was struck in the head with a billy club during a fight early Thursday morning in the parking lot of her apartment complex. It was the second time that morning that police had responded to reports of a fight at Compass West.
Police said several people were arguing in the parking lot when they arrived at 4:30 a.m.
The woman, 23, told police that an Idora Avenue man had struck the left side of her face with the club during the argument.
The man, 20, told police that three men had barged into his apartment earlier and stolen the club.
Police also spoke with another Compass West woman, 19, who was in the area and had a cut on her chin and blood on her face and shirt. She refused medical treatment.
Earlier call: The 19-year-old had been approached by police earlier in the morning about another fight at the apartment complex. Police arrived at the complex at 2:30 a.m. and found several people arguing in the parking lot.
A 22-year-old Compass West woman told police that the 19-year-old and a 20-year-old North Belle Vista Avenue woman attacked her when she came home from Chipper's Sports Bar.
The North Belle Vista Avenue woman said the 22-year-old started the fight.
Reports said the 19-year old and the North Belle Vista Avenue woman were both intoxicated.
The owner of the billy club also was at the scene and was intoxicated, police said.
Police are investigating.
