The Youngstown State men's basketball team was picked to finish eighth in the nine-team Horizon League in the preseason poll released Wednesday.
Butler led the way with 300 total points and 30 first place votes. The Bulldogs return four starters from last season's 24-8 team that won the regular season and tournament titles.
Following Butler in the voting was Detroit, Cleveland State, UW-Milwaukee, Wright State, Illinois-Chicago, UW-Green Bay, Youngstown State and Loyola.
Butler point guard Thomas Jackson was voted as the league's preseason player of the year.
The selections were made by a panel of coaches, sports information directors and media members.
