AGREEMENTS Provisions
In addition to the raises, here are details of new contracts for city emplyees shows:
POLICE
UClothing allowance increased from $400 to $600 annually.
UShift differential raised from 25 cents afternoon and 35 cents night turn to a flat 50 cents for both.
UDevelopment of a Deferred Retirement Option Pension that will allow them to announce their retirement four years early and begin to draw down their pension at that time, with those early payments going into a trust fund that will be given to them in a lump sum when they retire.
UMaximum patrolman wages will go to $39,187 in the first year, $40,362 in the second and $41,573 in the third.
FIREFIGHTERS
UUniform allowance increased from $300 to $500 annually.
UShift differential raised from 10 cents for afternoon and 15 cents for midnight to 50 cents for both.
URetirement age changed from a flat 20 years of service to age 50 plus 20 years of service.
UMaximum salary goes to $36,528 in the first year, $37,624 in the second and $38,752 in the third, with a wage reopener clause in the fourth year.
NONUNIFORMED
UIncrease longevity increments from $75 to $100 per year of service and raise the longevity cap from $1,500 to $2,000 per year.
UReduce employee pension contribution from 6 percent of wages to 3 percent annually.
UIncrease meal allowance from $4 to $5.
UProvide $50 per year for work shoes.
UIncrease shift differential from 35 cents for afternoon and midnight to 50 cents for both.
UAll employees get 3 percent increases in their hourly rates in each year of the contract.
