WARREN -- The Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District will conduct a free scrap tire collection Saturday at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds in Bazetta Township.
Hours are 9 a.m. to noon.
Yellow directional signs will be posted, directing motorists to the collection site.
Tires will be accepted on or off the rim. There is a limit of eight tires per load.

Deal with Coca-Cola helps diocese schools
ERIE, Pa. (AP) -- A vending contract with the Coca-Cola beverage company has generated more than $61,000 in commission for schools in the Catholic Diocese of Erie. In September 2000, the diocese signed a 10-year contract, giving the company exclusive rights in the area's 48 Catholic schools.
The machines generated $51,623 from Erie County schools between September 2000 and August of this year, according to a news release. Schools in the diocese's other 12 counties brought in $9,855 in the same period.
In addition, the diocese gets $85,000 a year from Coke for scholarships. That money is divided among all the schools, which ranges from about $1,200 to $3,600, depending on a student's grades and school location.
The total value of the deal is estimated at $4.1 million over 10 years.
