Outstanding area women will receive awards during banquet

Accomplishments of more than 300 women in Mahoning Valley have been recognized since 1978.
BOARDMAN -- The YWCA of Youngstown will continue its tradition of honoring outstanding area women for their achievements and leadership at its 24th annual Women of the Year Awards banquet Tuesday at Mr. Anthony's, 7440 South Ave.
Fifteen local women have been singled out for recognition at the event. Festivities will begin with a social hour at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 and the awards ceremony.

Purpose: Since 1978, the YWCA of Youngstown has honored more than 300 women in the Mahoning Valley for their contributions, career achievements, leadership and community involvement.
The Women of the Year Awards is designed to increase community awareness and appreciation of women who serve as role models and mentors, and have played significant roles in helping other women achieve their goals.
This year's corporate sponsor is First Place Bank, and corporate contributors include Home Savings and Loan Co., Humility of Mary health partners and Sky Bank.
