MAC leads Conference Cup golf play, goes for title today



COITSVILLE -- The Metro Athletic Conference leads, 6-2, with 8 1/2 points needed to win the Conference Cup, which concludes today with best-ball match play and alternate shot (9 holes each) competition starting at 10 a.m. at Countryside Golf Course.
During an individual match play format Saturday, the MAC's six winners were Brandon Pauley, Ryan Neeley, Mike McClure, Dan Reedy, Dan Ramun and John Sweeney. The Steel Valley Conference's winners were Mike Thomas and Tony Balkan.
Pauley defeated John Metzinger, 5 & amp; 3; Neeley beat Jim Demidovich, 6 & amp; 4; McClure nipped Adam Amorn, 5 & amp; 3; Reedy downed Brad Infante, 1-up; Ramun beat Patsy Daltorio, 5 & amp; 4, and Sweeney defeated Charles Hantraft, 5 & amp; 4.
Thomas beat John Sliwinski, 6 & amp; 4, and Balkan defeated Michael Miladore, 1-up.
The event is open to the public.
