Grocer's hall of fame
David Schwebel, past president of Schwebel Baking Co., was recently inducted into the Ohio Grocer's Association Hall of Fame at a dinner in Columbus. Schwebel was represented by his niece, Alyson Winick, the Youngstown-based baking company's senior vice president.
Schwebel led these organizations over the years: local chapter of the American Heart Association, Israel Bonds, chairman of the Arrowhead Boy Scouts Association, district chairman of the American Red Cross, charter member of the Boardman Rotary and also has devoted many hours to fund raising for the United Appeal and the American Cancer Society.
He has served as president of Anshe Emeth Temple, president of the Northern Ohio Region of the United Synagogues of America, president of the Cambium Club and president of the Grocery Manufacturers of Youngstown.
He was chosen to receive the Justice Louis D. Brandeis Award from the Zionist Organization of America and is a 32nd degree Mason. He also served as board chairman of Schwebel Baking. He is retired.
DOCTORS
Residency begins
Dr. Mimi McNally of Canfield recently began a three-year residency in internal medicine at Forum Health Northside Medical Center, Youngstown.
She received her combined bachelor of science and medical degree magna cum laude from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in Rootstown, where she was the recipient of the "Excellence in Pediatrics" award.
Dr. McNally is the daughter of Mike and Eileen McNally of Canfield.
