Influenza vaccine shots are being offered through St. Francis Hospital at the following sites:
Epworth United Methodist Church, 805 E. Washington St., New Castle: 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday.
Mary, Mother of Hope Parish -- St. Mary Worship Site, 124 N. Beaver St., New Castle: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
St. Joseph Church (former school building), 1111 S. Cascade St., New Castle: 1:30 to 4 p.m. Oct. 25.
New Wilmington Senior Center, 241 High St., New Wilmington: 9 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 26.
St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Sts. Philip & amp; James Worship Site, corner of Charles & amp; Hanna streets, New Castle: 9 to 11 a.m. Nov. 5.
St. Joseph Church (former school building), 1111 S. Cascade St., New Castle: 1:30 to 4 p.m. Nov. 8.
Mary, Mother of Hope Parish -- Madonna Worship Site, 114 Oakland St.: 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 13.
St. Vincent de Paul Parish, St. Lucy Worship Site, 1 Lucymont Drive, New Castle: 9 to 11 a.m. Nov. 14.
St. Joseph Church (former school building), 1111 S. Cascade St., New Castle: 1:30 to 4 p.m. Nov. 15 and 29.
Participants should bring their Medicare, Security Blue or Advantra insurance cards with them. Medicare, Security Blue and Advantra will be billed for the flu vaccine at no cost to participants. There will be a $15 charge for all others. Please wear a short-sleeved shirt.
The flu vaccine is recommended for health-care workers, people who are 65 years of age or older, nursing-home residents and people who have chronic medical conditions. Women who will be in the second or third trimester of pregnancy during the flu season should also receive the vaccine.
Anyone who has had a cold, is allergic to eggs or has received any other vaccine in the past two weeks may not receive the flu vaccine. For more information, please call the St. Francis Hospital Community Education Department at (724) 656-8072, Ext. 254.
