ASSOCIATIONS
XMill Creek Chapter of the American Business Women's Association will mark its 39th anniversary at 6 p.m. Nov. 13 at Antone's Banquet Centre, Boardman. "Surf's Up" is the theme; members should dress for a day at the beach. Charter members Mary Lou Gartland, Peg Nell and Isabel Simko and members with perfect attendance will be honored. Past presidents and women of the year will be recognized. Eve Berardino is chairman. The cost is $18, and guests may attend.
XTri-County Chapter of the American Business Women's Association will hold a membership enrollment event Nov. 6 at the Saxon Club, Meridian Road, Youngstown. The Tri-County Players will be featured. Guests are welcome. Networking will be held from 6 to 6:30 p.m., and dinner will be served from 6:30 to 7:30 with the program following. Mary Lane Kamberg will present "Bright Ideas." The menu is chicken a la king over homemade biscuit or baked fish, mashed potatoes, salad and pumpkin pie. XStruthers High School January and June Classes of 1943 will meet for lunch at 1 p.m. Friday at The Elmton in Struthers.
CLUBS
XFriends of Poland Library will meet at 10 a.m. Nov. 12 for a members-only tour of the new library, 311 S. Main St., that will replace the regular November meeting. Reservations are to be made by Oct. 30 by calling (330) 757-2683 or (330) 757-1436.
XOhio Cultural Alliance will meet at 6 p.m. Nov. 5 at Ursuline Motherhouse, 4280 Shields Road, Canfield, for the program, "Monuments, Memories and Milestones of Costa Rica." Dr. John White, chairman of Youngstown State University anthropology department, will speak on this 40-day dig in Costa Rica. The cost for paid-up members is $11; for nonmembers, the cost is $15. XPoland Women's Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 29 at the home of Cathy Morrison. Co-hostesses will be Fran Hartley and Ruthie Wilkes. Guest speaker will be Dr. Robert Zorn, superintendent of Poland schools.
COMMITTEES
XA guest day meeting will be held by the Women's Committee for Children's Concerts at 8:45 a.m. Monday at Powers Auditorium. Dr. Robert Rollin of Dana School of Music will discuss the business of being a composer and play an original piano composition. Members will provide the light brunch.
LODGES
XCE Chapter of PEO Sisterhood will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Holiday Inn South in Boardman for a B.K.L. dinner and auction. Jane and Mary Beth Harry will conduct the auction. The social committee will be the host group.
POLITICAL CLUBS
XMahoning County Federation of Democratic women will meet at 6 p.m. Oct. 30 at Old Country Buffet at Shops at Boardman Park with Betty Stanko presiding.
XMahoning County Republican Women's Club will meet at noon Nov. 27 at Denny's Restaurant, Austintown. The meeting originally planned for Tuesday has been canceled.
SINGLES
XAn All Singles Halloween dinner dance is planned Oct. 27 at Aulizio's Banquet Center, Warren. The event is open to all area single, separated, divorced or widowed persons and former members of area singles groups. A social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a buffet dinner from 6 to 8. Dancing will follow. Costumes are optional. Set-ups will be available. The cost is $20 a person and reservations are required.
