Mayor's Task Force
Winners of the 2001 Peace Awards, to be given Monday night by the Mayor's Task Force on Crime and Violence Prevention:
GOOD SAMARITAN
Citizens Ron Betters and Tom Yeager and city police officer Chuck Swanson, for saving a man who had been attacked by a dog in February.
INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEER
Frances Gray, for her volunteer work in starting the citizen's patrol at the Victory Estates public housing project.
INDIVIDUAL PROFESSIONAL
Delphine Baldwin-Casey, detective sergeant in the city police department's crisis intervention unit, for her support of domestic violence victims.
INDIVIDUAL YOUTH
Jessica Estes, for her accomplishments in academics, leadership and school and community service while at Choffin Career Center.
GROUP VOLUNTEER
Crime Stoppers of Mahoning County, for maintaining a tip line, raising money and giving out rewards for information that goes into capturing people wanted by police.
GROUP PROFESSIONAL
ADT Security Services, for offering free security systems to domestic violence victims.
GROUP PROFESSIONAL
Youngstown Police Department, for its work in the Weed & amp; Seed neighborhood program.
