Hubbard rolls over Liberty to an easy tournament win



BOARDMAN -- Amy Falhamer scored eight points and made three aces, leading Hubbard High to a 15-1, 15-1 victory over Liberty Thursday in the Division II sectional volleyball tournament at Boardman High School.
Cortney Hoch added eight points and four kills for the Eagles (23-1). Katy Jo Mroski had four points, three aces, six kills and two blocks.. Nicole Pringle had three assists and three digs.
Liberty saw its season end with a 4-17 record.
Southeast 15-15, Mooney 0-5: Erica Hogue sparked the Pirates (18-5) with 10 points and 10 assists. Laura Divoky chipped in with nine points and eight kills. Lauren Weber had five assists and five kills.
Andrea Fryda led the Cardinals (4-15) with five points and two aces. Laura Gaige had 12 assists and April Russ had six digs.
Northwest 15-15, West Branch 12-10: CANTON -- West Branch (11-13) was eliminated in the Div. II sectional tournament at Canton South High School.
Taylor Woods paced the Warriors with seven points and seven passes. Amber Metzgar had 11 passes, five assists, four kills and one point, while Jen Weingart had eight passes, five kills and one point.
