PREP VOLLEYBALL Range gets win over Rootstown

LaBrae moved on in sectional play against Maplewood.
SALEM -- Jodi James collected nine kills and two blocks as South Range defeated Rootstown 15-1, 15-6 in the Division III sectional volleyball tournament at Salem High School Monday.
Crystal Schuler had 11 points, four aces and four kills for the Raiders (18-3).
Becky Skowron also had seven points, three aces and six assists for the Raiders who will now meet fourth-seeded United Thursday at 6 p.m.
In Monday's other match East Palestine eliminated East Canton 15-5, 16-14.
Tonight, East Palestine will take on top-seeded Springfield at 8 p.m.
Div. III: LEAVITTSBURG -- In the first round of the tournament at LaBrae Middle School, LaBrae eliminated Badger 15-3, 15-8, Streetsboro ousted Newton Falls 15-13, 15-7 and Garrettsville Garfield beat Pymatuning Valley 15-7, 15-3.
Wednesday LaBrae will meet top-seeded Maplewood at 6 p.m. followed by Streetsboro's clash with second-seeded Girard at 7:15 p.m.
Garrettsville will take Champion, the third seed, Thursday at 6 p.m.
