Kosar's family sets up office in incubator

YOUNGSTOWN -- An investment company run by Bernie Kosar's family is setting up an office in the Youngstown Business Incubator.
Cleveland Pacific Equity Ventures will have someone in the office once or twice a week to work with the 12 technology companies located in the incubator, said Jim Cossler, incubator director.
He said Cleveland Pacific is interested in establishing relationships with the companies to support the Mahoning Valley and also determine if any of them would be suitable for investments.
The incubator's companies will benefit by taking advantage of Cleveland Pacific's connections and advice, he said.
Kosar, a Boardman native and former Cleveland Browns quarterback, helped start the Cleveland-based investment company with his father, Bernie Kosar Sr., who was the first chairman of the Youngstown incubator. The incubator provides free rent and other services to start-up companies.
Five of these companies met Wednesday with officials from Cleveland Pacific and other investment groups to make requests for investments ranging from $1 million to $2 million.
