Council urges letters
NILES -- The Lake-to-River Girl Scout Council has invited its membership and others to write letters or notes or make cards of thanks to be sent to chaplains for distribution to U.S. military personnel at bases here and abroad. Greetings may be sent to the council office at 980 Warren Ave., Niles, from which they will be sent to chaplains. The council urges that messages be positive and that homemade cards be kept small and flat. The best media are pens, paper, crayons, pencils, markers and paint, the council says, cautioning that glitter, buttons and hard objects don't mail well.
